A DAY at the races ended in shoplifting for an elderly couple - when they came to Ayr in September last year.
Sarah Lynn, and husband, John Lynn, both 69 were caught stealing clothes from Marks and Spencer in High Street when they came up from their home in Greenrigg, Uddingston on September 22.
The pair avoided any penalty.
But they had their sentence deferred for them to be of good behaviour until May 5, 2020 when they appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.
Sheriff Desmond Leslie told Sarah Lynn: “You do have a very significant history of offending which does you no favours.
“Unfortunately you were supported in this by your husband.”
