A COW was rescued by fire crews near Maybole after it became stuck in a bog.
A specialist water rescue team from Ayr assisted Maybole firefighters last week to haul the animal back on to dry land.

A rescue team of four can then been assembling a ramp which they then use to walk across to get closer to the stranded animal.
Two of the team can then be seen gradually hauling the cow further forward and on to the ramp, whilst the other two hold the ramp in place.
Another image shows the farmer walking his rescued animal back to a vehicle to be taken back to its home.
The pictures were shared on Maybole Fire Station’s social media.
A Facebook post told of the successful rescue effort.
The post read: "Earlier today we were mobilised to a cow stuck in a bog.
"Using specialist rescue equipment and water rescue crew from Ayr the cow was brought safely from the bog and back to dry land. Thanks to the farmer for letting us share the pictures."
