VANDALS have been blasted for smashing the defibrillator box at Eglinton Park.
North Ayrshire Council are urging anyone with information to contact police after the mindless incident last week.
They added that the defibrillator can still be obtained from the rangers office until more secure storage can be sorted out.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “We are extremely disappointed that someone would choose to vandalise a potentially life-saving defibrillator unit and would ask anyone with information to please contact police.
“Luckily the device itself was not damaged in the incident.
“The defibrillator can currently be obtained during office hours from the Countryside Rangers’ office until more secure outdoor storage for the device can be fitted.”
