ADAMANT Ardrossan Winton Rovers boss Stevie Wilson is still not giving up on promotion, despite their hopes being dealt a blow with a disappointing result.
Winton were held by Bellshill Athletic, leaving them in third spot.
But breathing down their necks are Blantyre Vics, who have four games in hand and are 11 points adrift, following their 7-0 demolition of Lugar Boswell Thistle on Saturday.
Now Wilson is setting his sights on winning their two final games - away to struggling Shettleston on Saturday and away to leaders Gartcairn a fortnight later.
He said: “I can’t fault the effort or commitment of the players on Saturday, we dominated much of the match and we missed some good chances.
“The problem is that we lacked a cutting edge in front of goal and that’s something we have to work on. But they came into it more and our goalie Chris Lamb had to make a great save at the end.”
Added the boss: “The Shettleston game won’t be easy as they’re fighting for their lives, but we must go and make sure we take three points. We will take it a game at a time. After it’s over we will focus on Gartcairn and aim to win there.
“Blantyre still have to play Gartcairn, Shotts and Bellshill so they have tough games. Hopefully they might drop something, But if they get the points fair play to them.”
