CLIMATE change has been dropped from the list of North Ayrshire Council’s risks for the year ahead as they focus on flood defence.
Cyber attacks are also top of the list of the list for the council as they recognise issues they may face.
The Strategic Risk Register for 2019 to 2020 was signed off by councillors at cabinet last week.
The biggest three headaches for the council are: financial, health and economic inequalities and ongoing cash shortfalls in health and social care.
There are four high risks: hackers potentially attacking the council’s IT system and Brexit. The council’s transformation programme aimed at saving money has also been rated high risk because of the potential impact on the workforce. The fourth concern is challenges in community capacity building and empowerment.
