Commuters have felt the full force of Storm Gareth as rail services in South Ayrshire were cancelled due to gale force winds.
Glasgow trains are unable to operate to and from Ayr due to overhead wire damage while train services to Girvan/Stranraer have been cancelled.
Replacement bus services are in place and Scotrail are updating as the weather changes.
Scotrail said: "We’ve overhead line damage in the Barassie area which means we’re unable to operate our trains to/from Ayr, therefore trains from Glasgow to Ayr will terminate at Irvine and trains from Ayr to Glasgow will start at Irvine.
"We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused our customers today.
Stagecoach are not reporting any major delays but services are likely to be busier as trains are off.
