A young man was mugged and threatened in the street in Troon on Thursday, December 13.
The 23-year-old was walking along Portland Street near to Corum Estate Agents at around 7.30pm when he was approached by two men who threatened him with violence and robbed him of his wallet.
One of the men is described as having short dark hair and wearing a pair of shorts.
It is understood that the two men were involved in a further incident shortly afterwards near to Bank Street, where they acted in an aggressive manner towards a man.
Detective Constable Chris Rae from Ayr CID said: “I am appealing for anyone who either witnessed the incident or noticed a man wearing a pair of shorts in the area, which would have appeared unusual in the cold weather, to please get in touch.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Ayr CID via 101 quoting incident number 3479 of Thursday 13 December 2018. Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
