THREE Carrick groups were delighted to receive cheques last week from Alastair Travers, Manager of the Co-op in Maybole.
Cheques totalling £13,209.37 were handed over to Carrick Activity Centre, Girvan & South Carrick Community Action Network and Maybole Memorial Park Bowling Club.
A Co-op spokesperson said: "Thanks to our members, together we’ve helped raise an amazing £19 million for local causes since November 2017.
"We give one per cent of what members spend on Co-op branded food products in our stores and selected services, as well as money raised from sales of carrier bags and Co-op scratch cards in our stores, to local projects – from improving community spaces or helping school leavers learn life skills, to simply connecting people.
"So just by buying a pint of milk from one of our stores, you could help make things better in your community."
The Co-op local community fund gives money to local organisations to fund projects that help to bring people together and make a difference.
