A PERSON was rescued by the Troon Lifeboat crew off Barassie beach.
The incident happened around 6.45pm on Tuesday, October 16.
The RNLI crew was in place to undertake their weekly training, allowing the volunteer and shore crew to react quickly, kitting up a lifeboat in preparation for the rescue.
Police guided the crew around 200 metres offshore where the casualty was recovered to the lifeboat and assessed by the team on board.
An ambulance was requested once they returned to the lifeboat station and the individual was assessed by paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The RNLI confirmed the individual sustained no serious or harmful injuries.
