A CASUALTY was rescued from the water at Barassie Beach, Troon last night.
At around 6.45pm, Troon Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) were notified of reports that an individual was in the water at the southern end of Barassie Beach.
About to undertake their weekly training, the volunteer and shore crew reacted quickly and kitted up a lifeboat in preparation for the rescue.
After exiting the harbour, local police guided the crew around 200 metres offshore where the casualty was recovered to the lifeboat and assessed by the team on board.
An ambulance was requested once returned to the lifeboat station and the individual was assessed by paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The RNLI confirmed the individual sustained no serious or harmful injuries.
