MEMBERS at Royal Troon Golf Club raised a four-figure sum of money for Parkinson’s UK.
At the club’s recent Duke of Portland Charity competition, they collected £1,000 for the charity.
With some members of the club affected by Parkinson’s, it was appropriate that Parkinson’s UK was one of three charities benefitting from the event.
Jan Mattison, West Scotland Regional Fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK, said:“It’s a wonderful way to support fellow members and others living with the condition.
"Thanks go out to all involved in organising and supporting the competition, particularly Club Captain Alasdair Cameron, House Convenor Bill Collier, Club Secretary Stephen Anthony and Janice Beaton, Administrative Secretary.
“It’s only through the incredible generosity of individuals and clubs like Royal Troon that the charity is able to provide high quality local services and support our world-leading scientific research.”
