SPORTS, arts and crafts and police dogs were among the main attractions when Troon Primary School hosted two popular annual events, writes Stewart McConnell.
Troon Primary School hosted the ever-popular school sports at Portland Park, home of Troon FC a week past on Friday.
There were all the usual races for the different age groups at the sports in addition to the increasingly popular parents’ races, which are becoming increasingly popular.
Morrisons supplied 300 bottles of water to help participants cool down and the Parent Council treated kids to ice lollies after.
Then after the running was complete, the summer fair was staged in the school playground.
Organised by the Troon Primary Parents’ Association, this event raised an impressive £2,500 for school funds, although some expenses are still be be deducted.
The event had something for all the family, including fairground rides, burgers, hot dogs and a tuck shop.
There were lots of stalls, including The Body Shop, cups and coasters, home baking, face painting and a bottle tombola.
Crafts and flower pots designed for the children were on sale.
Police representatives also told people about their work, along with the Fire Brigade.
There were crafters, bus inflatables, a coffee cart and bunny love.
There was great support from local businesses for donations to the raffle.
