THE city's main post office has been shut with no notice as the gift shop it was attached to has gone out of business.
Salisbury Post Office, on Winchester Street, was closed with immediate effect when Showcards, who ran the post office counters, ceased trading.
The post office relocated from its previous premises in Castle Street in March 2016.
A Post Office spokesperson, said: “We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure, which was unplanned.
“We are committed to providing a Post Office in Salisbury and we are looking to see how we can restore Post Office services as soon as possible."
