A FAST emerging Troon gymnast is celebrating major national glory.
And she ultimately hopes to earn Commonwealth Games selection.
Millie Redford (12) lined up in the recent Scottish Championships in Perth.
On the Saturday, she was crowned Scottish Espoir champion and on Sunday, she won two further golds and two silvers on individual pieces including bars, beam, floor and vault.
The youngster is on the Elite pathway with City of Glasgow Gymnastics club and is in S1 at the School of Sport in Glasgow. She was runner up at the Cream of Ayrshire awards at the end of last year.
Her goal is to be part of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, when she will be 16.
Mum Joanne said: “Millie performed really well at the Scottish Championships and she deserves her successes.
“She works really hard and enjoys it - she trains at the same club as the Irvine gymnast David Weir, who is in this year’s Commonwealth Games and has done really well.
“It would be great if she could be selected for the Games which are being held in Birmingham in four years’ time.”
