AMONG the recent Troon Lifeboat Station Open Day guests, was South Ayrshire’s Depute Provost.
William Grant celebrated the station’s the open day with those who attended on Saturday, July 22.
The Depute Provost opened the event which was a chance for locals and visitors to have fun but also help raise funds for this important service.
From 11am until 4pm, visitors had the chance to speak to the volunteer crew of the RLNI and find out about the training they carry out and they variety of callouts they attend.
Depute Provost Grant said: “It was a wonderful day and everyone had a good time, especially those that got aboard the lifeboats.
“We have some of the busiest beaches in Scotland and knowing the volunteers are on standby is very reassuring.”
