A MAN turned up at his ex-partners home uninvited and acted threateningly towards her has been placed under supervision.

Gavin Wallace, of Glenmuir Road, Ayr, showed up at his former partner’s home, kicked the door and struck it with a knife in March this year.

The 23-year-old acted aggressively towards the woman stating that he was going to kill himself and repeatedly cut his body with a knife.

He appeared before Sheriff Carole Cunninghame at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

On April 6 this year, Wallace behaved in a threatening manner when he shouted, swore and uttered threats.

On the same day he attended Ayr Hospital and ‘uttered remarks of a sexually offensive nature’ towards a staff nurse in the course of her employment.

Wallace has been placed on a community supervision and will be under supervision for 12 months.

Defence solicitor Peter Lockhart, said: “Mr Wallace had been serving a sentence and was released last week.

“As far as I am aware, Mr Wallace’s former partner is keen to reconcile but over a period of time.

“He has problems with alcohol and he needs to address that and says he has not touched any since his release but I would suggest due to his age and maturity, a period of supervision.”
Sheriff Cunninghame, said: “The court has heard what has been said in relation to these matters.

“One hopes you have been brought to your senses and hears that you are on a detox programme.

“This is encouraging. In relation to one of these matters, you will be made subject to a community based disposal for 12 months under supervision.

“You will attend alcohol and mental health programmes with your supervision officer.

“I will defer sentence on the other matter.

“I want to make sure no-one is in danger.

“Do not be fooled by this.

“The court will be keeping an eye on you.”
