PREPARATIONS are well underway for the 2017 event, organisers said this week.
Lorraine Murdoch, the secretary for Ayrshire Agricultural Association explains the area is ready for the set up.
She said: “The set up has started for the Ayr County Show, with the marquees being put up and this takes around a week.
“We are hoping for good weather and the grounds looks good so it shouldn’t be muddy.”
The tickets for the show have been selling well, with bag drops happening across all the South Ayrshire schools.
This gives children a free voucher to attend the show, as part of an initiative to encourage more youngsters to attend the Show - and adults who come with them will also get a discount.
Lorraine added: “We have sold quite a few tickets so far but I think most people will buy the tickets at the gate when they arrive. We are doing bag drops this week in the schools in the area, which have vouchers.
“The children can bring the vouchers to the gate which allows them to get in for free and gives the adults a discounted price on their tickets.
“We are trying to encourage a wider variety of people to come to the show because it isn’t just for those involved in agriculture, it is for everyone.
“We are looking forward to a good day, with thanks to our sponsors and I wish good luck to everyone who is taking part.”
