The Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a stray hen found in a field next to their Ayrshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
The Scottish animal welfare charity is currently caring for the grey hen, named Priscilla by staff.
Centre Manager, Marion Hainey, said: “Priscilla was found in the field beside our centre, and has found a great friend in our long term resident cockerel Titch.
“As she was found so close to the centre we are uncertain whether she’s managed to escape, or if she’s been deliberately dumped here.
“If no one comes forward, we will be looking for a new home for her.
"Now that she’s bonded with our Titch, we’d love to see them being rehomed together.”
If anyone recognises Priscilla, or would like to rehome Titch, please contact the Scottish SPCA centre in Ayr on 03000 999 999.
