FLIX Fun Bar has been refused an extended hours license application at the latest South Ayrshire Licensing Board meeting.

The bar in Girvan was hoping for an extended terminal hour of 3:30am on Thursday, December 22 however councillors have decided to reject the application.

There was also an expectation that it would be trading up until 1:30am instead of 12:30am.

Previously councillors had rejected a later license for Flix Fun Bar on a Thursday despite this application quickly approaching Christmas.

Councillor Alan Dorans said: "Having previously refused a Thursday application for Flix Fun Bar it would be wrong of us to go back on that."

Councillor and chair of the meeting Ann Galbraith shared Councillor Alan Dorans' sentiments and refused the application.

Flix Fun Bar has been in front of the Licensing Board previously this year as intended burlesque nights caused objections.

However, the objector at this point withdrew their argument and Flix Fun Bar was allowed to go ahead with burlesque nights in an attempt to boost night life in Girvan.
