A GROUP of psychics have added an amazing 700 to the Jessica Appeal just by hosting one special night.
Medium group Deja Vu offered their expertise by passing on messages to people with all ticket and raffle money collected going to the Troon four-year-old"s appeal.
The five mediums decided to host the event after reading about generous South Ayrshire residents in our paper who have helped raise over 60,000 to save Jessica.
Member Andy Rankin spoke about the night at Foresters" Halls in Ayr on Friday.
He said: 'It went super and we made almost 700 but we just rounded it up. We did not take any expenses at all. It was terrific, absolutely terrific.
'We will all try to do the same again, we try to do a charity fundraiser once a month and this is a really worthy cause to help this wee girl.' Deja Vu formed just over a year ago and include mediums Andy, Eppie Graham, Anne Welsh, Annis Welsh, Laura McCrorie and Alex Waddell.
Dozens of people attended the family night on Friday to see if the mediums had any special messages for them and were not left disappointed.
Andy, who lives in Craigie, spoke about the group"s commitment to help the Troon youngster.
He said: 'Everybody involved in the circle put our heads together and said we must do something for this wee girl - even if we just made a shilling it didn"t matter.' Guests were treated to the fantastic readings on the public stage and in private.
Group secretary Ellena Allan explained: 'We had a good turnout and we had five mediums on platform and five doing individual readings throughout the night.
'I opened the evening"s event by explaining about Jessica as quite a few of the audience were unaware of her condition. We also stopped for our raffle, which was absolutely wonderful.
'On behalf of Deja Vu I want to thank all the people and businesses, large and small, who kindly donated to our raffle.' In fact there was a fantastic collection of raffle prizes including numerous bottles of spirits, wine, champagne, chocolates, jewellery, ornaments, a cd player, perfume, a bouquet of flowers, a mini BBQ, pizza plate and cutter and cappuccino set.
There was also vouchers for a hairdresser, private spiritual readings and an exclusive day at the races for two.
Ellena continued: 'May I also take this opportunity to thank the Advertiser Series for giving us the coverage. At the end of the evening we had managed to raise a whopping 700, which we hope to hand over very soon.' - Are you collecting or holding an event for the Jessica Appeal? Call us on 01292 267 631.
