Donkeys delight at the derby

One of the most popular events of this year’s Lady of the Lake Festival was the donkey derby which took place on Sunday, July 14 at Castle Irvine, Necarne. The event has now become a firm favourite in the festival calendar, and once again drew in a large crowd of spectators, who were all keen to see the various races take place in the historic grounds of Castle Irvine.

Hundreds take part in popular Lady of the Lake 5k and 10k

The 2024 Irvinestown Lady of the Lake 5k and 10k – held earlier this week on Tuesday – was a huge success, with 352 runners and walkers taking part. This marked the largest number of participants the event has ever had in its history, with many locals from Irvinestown- and Fermanagh-based clubs taking part.

Lady of the Lake wows with great festival launch

The Lady of the Lake Festival returned in fashionable style last Thursday evening with the opening parade and the unveiling of a local woman as the Lady of the Lake. Nicola Johnston (22) was announced as the 2024 Lady of the Lake, following the opening parade in Irvinestown.
