John McDowall
McDowall John "Jock" Looking for ancestors of the McDowall and Simpson families, who lived in Girvan from 1820-1860. Brothers John McDowall and James McDowell emigrated to the Colony of Queensland, Australia, in 1860. Their parents John McDowall and Eleanor Hopkin were married in Ballymoney, Ireland, in 1813, before settling in Girvan to raise their family.
