Law Album Impresses
IF Roxette - remember them? Kind of a Scandinavian Eurhythmics? - hadn't got there first with their greatest hits set, Dundonian great white hopes The Law could have called their debut album Don't Bore Us, Get To The Chorus.
Because even if it doesn't say that on the tin, that's exactly what happens on A Measure of Wealth. On goes the song, in come sibling rhythm section Simon and Martin Donald, Stevie Anderson gives the riff some welly on guitar, cue Stuart Purvey's extremely tuneful and appealing vocals and we're away.
Tine after time that happens - and the great thing is that it works, because by God these lads know how to write a song.
