FORMER Tartan Tour professional Stuart Robin pulled off the biggest victory of his amateur career at the Old Course on Saturday night.

He outlasted Prestwick St Nicholas team-mate Kevin Brock 2 up in a classic duel played in brilliant sunshine to land the Nickson Trophy - the scratch prize in the 2012 Prestwick Links Championship.

Currently an employee at Pizza Hut at Heathfield, Robin admitted sound putting was the perfect recipe to success in a slugfest of a contest with went right to the final green in almost perfect weather conditions with a cool breeze making it a testing tussle.
