MAYBOLE 1
IRVINE VICTORIA 2
LEADERS Vics maintained their title charge with a narrow win against well-organised Maybole.
It was their third triumph of the season against the Ladywell Stadium club.
The first half ended deadlocked at 0-0, although Vics had the better chances.
Kenny Parris shot over the bar following a corner-kick early on and Graeme Longair shot just over the bar for the visitors.
Just five minutes after the break Vics broke the deadlock when David Cunningham, on loan from Girvan, set up Parris to knock the ball across home goalie Martin McCauley and into the net.
Maybole then missed a couple of good opportunities, with Callum McDade firing wide and having a shot saved by visiting goalie Chris Lamb.
However in 77 minutes Irvine Vics netted when Parris thundered the ball home for his second strike of the game.
Two minutes from time Maybole pulled a goal back when Chris Campbell netted amidst a goalmouth scramble.
