WHITLETTS Victoria FC are on the search for a new manager for their Under-21 side who play in the Premier League of the West of Scotland League.

The move comes after Head of Youth Development, John Kelly, was given the key task by the club of establishing their own youth development sides at younger age levels in time for the new season starting in the spring.

The new coach should either have a C License or be willing to work towards achieving that level of qualification and will have full control of running the under 21 side, the only club in Ayrshire to play the game at this age group.

One of the key objectives of the role will be to prepare players to progress into the Whitletts Victoria junior set up or to play the game at the highest possible level and will work closely with juniors manager Neil Duffy.

Training is on a Monday and Wednesday evening at Ayr Academy with matches on a Saturday afternoon.

The club are looking for the new manager and his/her coaching staff to be in place for the New Year. Anyone interested should send their CV to John Dalton at jbd@sky.com by no later than Sunday, December 17.

Meanwhile Vics are progressing with plans to establish their own youth development programme by establishing youth teams at various age groups up to Under-12’s in time for the new season starting in the spring to play at four, five and seven-a-side games.

Volunteers are also being sought to coach sides at the various age groups and the club will assist to help coaches with the cost of obtaining their relevant coaching badges.

Anyone interested in volunteering as a coach is invited to contact Head of Youth Development, John Kelly on 07706 073 523.
