PREMIER Division basement side Troon are pulling out all the stops to win away to champions Auchinleck Talbot on Saturday as they bid to keep their survival hopes alive.

The two sides met in the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup last Wednesday, with the Seasiders going 2-0 ahead, but 'Bot scoring twice before the break and three goals in quick succession after the interval to seal a 5-3 victory.

Boss Gordon Burns said: "We can take some positives from the way we took the game to Talbot early on. But we conceded some very cheap goals and the game summed up our season. It's out of our hands but we have to win at Auchinleck and Kilwinning have a huge match at home to Pollok."

Tonight (Wednesday) Maybole will hope to spring an upset when they host Buffs in the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup quarter-finals.

Boss Carlo Walker said: "They are a Premier Division side and favourites but we will give it our best shot."

In another last-eight tie Annbank United host holders Beith, who won on penalties against Irvine Meadow.

Bankies are a much-improved side but will face a tough task against the Scottish Junior Cup holders.
