DEJECTED Girvan FC manager Peter Leonard is looking to put the disappointment of the weekend defeat behind him as his team gear up for a home Scottish Junior Cup clash.
Girvan went down 1-0 away to Renfrew in the Super First Division on Saturday.
This weekend sees them returning for their first home match of the year, taking on Penicuik in the fourth round of the Scottish Junior Cup.
Leonard said: "We had a great win last weekend at Petershill, which was one I didn't expect and played well. But I don't know what went wrong on Saturday. It was our poorest performance of the season so far I would say. I can't put my finger on what went wrong. We just never really got going. Our league results have been good and our aim is promotion. But it's a very difficult and the league is tight, there's not much separating the teams."
Tony Murphy and Michael Mossie are set to return from injury for the cup tie.
Leonard said: "Penicuik are considered favourites because they are an East Super League team. But it's a very important match for us. We have home advantage and will be looking to progress."
Added the manager: "It would be great if we could reach the last 16. I did it as a player with Irvine Meadow and as coach with Maybole. The guys will all be up for it and hopefully we will attract a good crowd."
