CRAIGMARK BURNTONIANS 1

MUIRKIRK 3

MUIRKIRK picked up their first league win of the season thanks to some weird decisions by the referee.

With only half a minute on the clock Steven McKay cleared a ball out of the box and to everyone's amazement the referee pointed to the spot. Paul Millar netted from

12 yards to give the visiting side the lead.

Craigmark drew level in three minutes when Adam Lawrie was played in and he skilfully side stepped the keeper before rolled the ball into the net.

It looked like being a close game at this stage.

Two minutes later there was more controversy when Marc Dyer cleared the ball from a corner and again the referee pointed to the spot and ordered off Dyer. Miller again netted the resultant penalty to put 'Kirk back in front/.

Muirkirk added a third goal 10 minutes from half-time, Ross Ballantyne netting.

Craigmark dominated the second half but a combination of good goalkeeping and the woodwork kept the visiting side ahead.

Ten minutes from the end substitute Calum Nairn was sent crashing to the ground. A group of players became involved in a tangle and this resulted in home player Bryce Reid from Craigmark and a Muirkirk

opponent being ordered off.

Muirkirk comfortably saw out the game to claim the three points.
