GIRVAN deservedly picked up another three points against Petershill with a dominant first half display at McKenna Park.

Petershill had the first chance after four minutes when they broke quickly but the ball across the box found no takers.

Girvan went ahead in the tenth minute a Steven McCreadie free-kick was cleared to Scott Dinwoodie who netted from 20 yards.

Four minutes later Steven Auld burst through but the Petershill keeper saved his effort.

Girvan doubled their lead in the seventeenth minute Mossie burst forward and his pass to Michael Reilly was shot into the net from 18 yards.

A minute later Reilly was through one-on-one with home goalie but he produced a fine save to deny the big striker.

Steven McCreadie then saw a shot blocked in 19 minutes as Girvan pushed for a third goal.

Petershill finally had a chance in 27 minutes but a free-kick from 20 yards went high over the bar.

Girvan got the important third goal in 32 minutes when Jack McDowall burst down the wing and his pass to Reilly was netted from 15 yards.

three minutes from the interval Scott Johnston produced a fine save from a header to ensure that Girvan retained their three-goal advantage at the interval. A fine save by the Petershill keeper at the back post in 62 minutes denied Steven Auld a goal.

Petershill had a chance to get back into the match in seven minutes but Scott Johnston denied the striker.

Peasy did pull a goal back 10 minutes from time when a corner-kick was eventually scrambled over the line at the fourth attempt.
