SURVIVAL: A good week started with a win over Morton
THE opening scenes of what could be Ayr United's version of the Great Escape were played out on Wednesday night with Steve Bowey in Steve McQueen's starring role, his glorious debut strike helping take the Honest Men out of the bottom two for the first time in six months.
Form team United took their points tally to a hugely impressive 10 from the last four games to significantly leapfrog Morton in the battle to avoid the nailbiting end -of-season playoffs.
Brian Reid's team have really hit the ground running as we enter the business end of the season and more displays like this will almost certainly ensure they retain their First Division status.
