UPBEAT Ayr United boss Brian Reid is hoping to defeat old club Dunfermline Athletic in the Barr's Irn Bru First Division after his improving side extended their unbeaten run to three games on Saturday.

They progressed to the Fourth Round of the Active Nation Scottish Cup with a 1-0 win away to Deveronvale and on Monday were rewarded with a home tie against Girvan FC's conquerors Wick Academy or Brechin City who drew 4-4 in the Highlands on Saturday.

Reid was happy with his team's performance.
