Experienced striker joins United to help earn draw

JOURNEYMAN striker Junior Mendes has high hopes that he can help take Ayr United out of the relegation zone after signing on until mid January and making an impressive debut.

And boss and former Dunfemline Athletic team mate Brian Reid, who was hugely impressed with the targetman's showing in the 1-1 draw against title-chasers Ross County, hopes to persuade him to stay longer.
