UPBEAT Ayr United assistant boss Scott MacKenzie says self belief among the players can go a lon gway towards keeping them in the Barr's Irn-Bru First Division after a battling performance against Queen of the South.

And he was full of praise for Dean Keenan, who switched easily from his midfield role into defence after Martyn Campbell's early injury in the 1-0 defeat against the high-flying league leaders.
