LONG-SUFFERING home fans had cause to celebrate on Saturday as Ayr clinched their first league win of the season against the previously undefeated Fifers.

Following a miserable start to the season which had yielded a mere three points from six games, Kenny Connolly's winning goal gave the Honest Men, who had been the last side to defeat the champions, another well-deserved victory against them.
