CIS Insurance Cup Second Round: AYR UNITED 0 ST MIRREN 2

PUNCHLESS United were floored by sharp Saints on Wednesday night to end their dreams of earning a money-spinning last 16 tie.

The cagey defensive formation which saw Mark Roberts as a lone frontman for much of the match simply didn't work as he did not get the supply he had been hoping for with the final ball lacking. And while the Honest Men missed some chances the well-organised Buddies defence pretty much handled everything that was thrown at them.
