Cup Winner Pope signs for Ayr

Published: 27 Jun 2013 09:30

HIGHLY-rated Auchinleck Talbot Emirates Scottish Cup winner Gordon Pope admitted he "jumped at the chance" of signing for Ayr United and returning to Senior Football after a call from Somerset Park boss Mark Roberts.

Now the left-back, who spent 10 years with Dundee United and was twice on the bench for the first team and was also with Montrose but was plagued with injury worries hopes to blast his new club into playoff contention.

And he will aim to make a similar impact to striker Michael Moffat who also joined the club from the Junior ranks after being snapped up by Girvan.
