DOUBLE hero Michael Rose feels there's even more to come from runaway League One leaders Ayr United after playing a key role in the 4-1 win away to East Fife.

United are the form team in the Scottish League and are now aiming for 10 successive wins in all competitions as they head to the Excelsior Stadium to face Airdrie United on Saturday.

Rose netted his first two goals of the season in the come-from-behind win at Bayview Stadium and said: "I'm delighted to get two goals as I have missed a few sitters and to get on the scoresheet. We were poor in the first half when East Fife were the better team but the manager changed things at half-time. We dominated the second half and got the three points.

"It's good to be playing every week and working with Chris Higgins - we have a good partnership. But I still feel we can do more and could keep more clean sheets but when you have boys like that up front you will win most games."

He feels strength in depth within the squad is a big factor in the recent run and added: "We have had a few injuries and managed to win the games so it shows we have depth in the squad, we has a couple of difficult games in the last two or three weeks but we have come through them and that's a good sign."

Manager Ian McCall felt his side outclassed the visitors but will not carried away following the impressive form run, stressing there's much work still to be done.

He said: "We were very poor in the first half but totally dominated after the break and could have had even more goals. I would say we looked like scoring every time we went up the park and it was another good three points for us."

However McCall will not get carried away with the hype and is keeping his feet firmly on the ground as his side gear up for the trip to Lanarkshire.

He said: "People talk about us being on a run but all we think about is we are preparing for the next game. Airdrie gave us a difficult match at Somerset Park earlier in the season but we are going there aiming to pick up three points. It would be good to go into Christmas with a good lead at the top of the league."

Robbie Crawford (groin injury) and skipper Ross Docherty (hip) will be assessed later in the week while Jamie Adams will not be risked on the astroturf surface.
