Marr College made it a league and cup double when they beat Auchenharvie Academy 65-60 in the Ayrshire schools open boys’ league game at Stevenson.
Marr struggled early in the first quarter and only three point baskets from Keiran Bennett and Jordan McIwraith and two baskets from Harry Kerr kept Marr in the game as Auchenharvie finished the quarter ahead 17-10.
The spectators who turned up to watch the Troon Tornadoes versus Edinburgh Kings match must have thought that the game was a title decider as both teams played with an intensity associated with derby games.
Two of the four Ayrshire Schools cup finals took place last week in front of a large and vocal support.

IN their first game since the disappointing Scottish cup final loss to Edinburgh Kings Troon Tornadoes got back to winning ways with a 82-78 victory over Falkirk Fury in a game that went to the wire.
