TROON Ladies 1s faced GHK Ladies 2s at home for a gripping match, having lost away to the team previously. From passback the match was a flowing, dynamic contest between the two evenly-matched teams. GHK scored first with a straight strike from the top of the D through players to find the back of the net. Troon was not disheartened, continuing to press hard and threaten their opposition’s goal. Shortly before half-time, Erin Bell broke through, levelling the score with a neat tap into the net. In the secnd half, Troon pulled ahead with Katie Watson converting a penalty corner with a straight strike that flew past the keeper. GHK pushed back fiercely, securing a series of short corners, and that pressure found success when a deflected shot gave the visitors their second goal. Subsequently both teams were very much determined to gain the all-important goal to edge in front of their opponents. Despite their best efforts over the last 10 minutes, neither could break the deadlock with the match concluding as a 2-2 draw.

The single point gained helps Troon climb back to seventh place, their ambition to stay up to give time to mature in Division 1.
