AWESOME Ayr hammered derby rivals Killie 21-0 to all but wrap up the Scottish Footgolf League title.
And top player Gavin Craig was not even the leading player in his family!
David Craig (56), dad of Gavin hit an incredible 61 (-11) in wet and windy conditions to come out with the top score of the evening, picking up five points for Ayr.
He also secured the two points for the over-45 category.
Scotland international Jonathan Craig, brother of Gavin, and Tony Bryson both hit 62 to pick up three and two points respectively. Jonny got second place on FootGolf countback.
Scotland and UK player Gavin Craig had an off-night and hit a 63, meaning he was third out of the Craig family!
Amy Miller picked up the female point for Ayr. Ayr proceeded to win both nine-hole pairs matches.
The big result means Ayr have qualified for the Club League Finals down south in October and also means they have all but wrapped up the Scottish Club league, with a game to spare.
Captain Gavin Craig said: "To have 30 players (21 Ayr, 9 Killie) on a cold and wet Wednesday evening was fantastic. With us having over 20 players this meant we got three points before even starting.
"It was good to have Amy playing her second match for the club and hopefully this will encourage other females to join us for next season. There is a real lack of female participation in Scotland and it would be good to improve that. I'm delighted for everybody involved at the club, especially the people who only got into FootGolf in the last few months. Vice-captain Martyn Little and I are proud of what the club has achieved in terms of numbers and results and feel we can continue to grow."
The Ayr team would like to thank Ayr to B Removals and Storage for sponsoring them.
