THERE was more action from Ayrodynamic members in Fyn, Denmark last week at the World Multisports Championships.

On Thursday, Troon’s Lyndsey Blair competed for The Great Britain age-group team at the World Aquathlon Championships. The race took the format of a 1km sea swim in Middelfart Marina followed by a 5km run. With an air temperature of 30 degrees and an abundance of stinging jellyfish to swim through the conditions were tough. Lyndsey did well to finish the race in 17th place in her age group.

On Saturday, the final day of the festival, Kilmarnock’s Marc Auchie represented Great Britain in the World Long Course Championships. Marc had a solid race and performed impressively in all three disciplines. The race started with the swim in Odense Harbour and finished on the blue carpet in King’s Garden in the centre in Odense.

Marc completed the 3km swim in 48:26, the 120km cycle in 3:41 and the 30km run in 2:42 giving him a finish time of 7:17 securing him 10th place in the World in the 20-24 age category. A fantastic result for Marc and great foundation for his main race of the year, Ironman Vichy.

Also racing abroad this weekend was Ayr’s Alasdair Ness, this time in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Como. In his first race back from injury, Alastair enjoyed the Lake Como Sprint Triathlon, making sure to take in the amazing scenery before crossing the line to take his finishers medal.

Back home, seven members took part in a 10-mile bike Time trial on the A78.

Solid performances and several personal best times were recorded. Fastest time of the day was by Colin Reily in 21:55 followed by David Auchie in 23:16. Lorna Todd showed she is on top form for Glasgow 2018 by recording a blistering 23:47. Then came Stewart McKinstray 24:1, David Murray 26:10 and Mandy Stewart 26:57.
