STRUGGLING Girvan suffered a third straight defeat after Buffs blasted home a last minute goal to deny them a point.

The hosts got off to the worst possible start in five minutes. Poor defending by Girvan saw them fail to clear the ball and Carlo Monti nipped in and turned the ball into the net from eight yards.

In 14 minutes Marc Cameron was fouled 20 yards out Jack McDowall takes the resulting free kick but his effort was straight into wall.

Then in 29 minutes, Paul Cameron head flicked the ball into the path of Darren Mitchell but was flagged offside when through on goalS

Seven minutes later home player Stephen O’Donnell made a goal-saving tackle when Monti was about to strike for goal.

Buffs came close in 53 minutes when Michael Wardrope ran into the box but shot over the bar. Three minutes later Bryan Boylan surged into the box but home goalie Scott Johnstone took the ball off his toes. On the hour a curling free-kick from Monti crept just wide.

A minute later Monti was through on goal with just the goalie to beat but home goalie Scott Johnstone saved at the feet of the striker.

In 70 minutes the hosts were awarded a penalty when Marc Cameron was taken down inside the box by Rick Hanvey and Marc's brother Paul stepped up to score from the spot.

Kilwinning should have made it 2-0 in 73 minutes, but a shot from close in the ball rebounded of bar and cleared.

In 75 minutes Marc Cameron blasted over bar from 12 yards when he should have done better.

Three minutes later Johnstone made a point-blank save from Bryan Boylan.

Ten minutes from time Joe Coleman ran into the box and found Davie Winters who shot just wide.

Then two minutes from time Findlay Frye teed up Monti, whose sweet strike from 15 yards found the net to seal victory for Buffs.

It was a hard one to take for Girvan in the dying minutes when they looked like securing a point.
