THIS years National Indoor Relay Championships took place on Sunday at The Emirates Arena, Glasgow with Ayr Seaforth having teams in all age groups competing.

The races comprise teams of four each covering the 200m track once before handing over the baton to the next competitor. In the U13,U15 & U17 age groups all heats and semi-finals were run on the day with those qualifying for the final competing alongside numerous International stars in the British Athletics Muller Grand Prix event on Sunday 25 February while the U20 finals were held on Sunday.

In the U13 Girls the team of Jenna Beswick, Libby White, Eve Beswick and Erin Ramsay took not only first place in their heat but first place overall in the heats to qualify for the semi-final with a time of 1:57.18. In their semi-final the girls again won their heat with a time of 1:56.51 which sees them comfortably through to the final in 2nd place. This time constitutes a new club record - impressive stuff indeed.

The U13 Boys team of Ti Wilson, James LeRoux, Alfie Murphy & Ben Edwards qualifies for the finals as 3rd place in heat 1 and 6th place overall in a time of 2:06.20.

The U15 Girls team of Amy McCann, Imogen Tribe, Fay McTrusty and Rosie Morrison qualified for the semi-finals as 2nd place in their heat and 7th overall in a time of 1:58.05. Unfortunately in that semi-final their time of 1:59.85 was 7th fastest overall so they missed out by a single place on a final appearance.

With no U15 Boys team it was the turn of the U17 Womens team of Bethany Haugh, Matilda Press, Gemma Bruce & Sophie Slider who qualified for their final in 2nd place from their heat and 6th overall in a time of 1:48.86.

The Senior Women's team of Kirsten McClymont, Jamie Hood, Katie McAlpine & Nadia Simpson qualified for their final in 1st place from their heat in a time of 1:46.90. In their final which was held later in the day they again ran in to second place, taking the silver medal in a time of 1:45.46 which was yet another new club record so congratulations again ladies.
