SPORTS enthusiasts from across the community are being invited to tee it up all in a good cause next month.

A Footgolf fundraiser is being organised in aid of Ayrshire Cancer Support at Roodlea Family Golf Centre, Coylton, on Sunday, February 25.

European Footgolf champion and Prestwick man Gavin Craig is organising the event.

The cost is £20 and people are invited to bring along their own football or hire one for £2.

They can take part in the Green It Challenge on hole 15, which is a par three for £5 entry, although this is optional. If from the tee-off your ball finishes on the six- metre green you triple your money. You must have the five pounds present at the 15th hole to be able to take part. Any winnings will be paid out at the time. There are prizes for first, second and third place as well as nearest to the pin and longest drive competitions.

Participants should note football boots are not permitted and anyone found wearing them will not get a prize. Astroturfs are the best footwear but if you don't have them trainers will suffice. Any type of clothing suitable.

You may sign up individually or as a four ball for this singles competition.

Businesses or individuals can sponsor a hole at £20 each.

Prize donations are also welcome.

To book a place, contact Gavin Craig on 07944209447, or e-mail gavincraig.footgolf@gmail.com if you would like to play.
