COMPETITORS from across the West of Scotland teed it up in the Girvan Golf Classic.

The event was staged at Girvan Municipal Golf Course.

Stephen Stamper of nearby Turnberry Golf Club won the main scratch event, the Carrick Herald Quaich, while top prize in the handicap event, the Ailsa Trophy was won by another local, Alan Brownlee of Brunston Castle.
