VICS produced their most complete performance of the season so far to send Paisley District Premier League outfit Glenvale crashing out of the West of Scotland Cup at the first hurdle.

Lee Holland made his debut for Vics, after joining from Glenburn and produced a commanding performance at the back, marshalling the back line.

But it was two goals from striker Tony Balfour which booked Victoria's place in the third round.

The opening half hour was an evenly contested affair bit it was Whitletts who made the breakthrough in the 32nd minute. Balfour cleverley cutting out a back pass and rounding the keeper before rolling the ball into the net.

Glenvale were back on level terms 10 minutes into the second half with a fine strike into the top corner, but Vics began to take control of the game.

James Davidson was unlucky with a left foot volley that was blocked back and when the ball fell back to him he struck a netbound right foot volley which was also blocked.

But with 10 minutes, remaining Vics broke down the left and Kieren Glass' low cross found Balfour at the back post and he his rattled it right footed into bottom corner.

This was a solid performance from Vics to claim the scalp if a top Paisley District side to book their place in the third round of the competition.
