BIRTHDAY boy Sachin Chaudhary was in great from as Prestwick toppled champions Clydesdale in a one-sided Western Premier Division match at Titwood on Saturday.

Looking to bounce back from defeat against Ayr in their last game, the visitors lost the toss were put in to bat on what was a slightly damp wicket following some overnight rain.

They began well and skipper Shazad Rafiq teaming up for a first wicket stand of 69 with Faisal Jawad, who was first out with 31.

Chaudhary then took to the crease and hit a half century, scoring an impressive 53.

There was then a mid-order slump before Ross Patterson came to the crease and scored a crucial 22 runs,

Willie Rowan also did well in the tail with 11 not out as the visitors ended their innings on 245 for nine.

The visitors got off to a dream start as with the score just on 16, Jawad took the opening wicket and it was then 42 for 2 as the same bowler struck again. There was then a run out from Patterson and Jawad took a double wicket maiden (two wickets in the same over) to leave the home side floundering on 62 for 5.

Jawad took another wicket to make his impressive haul 4 for 28.

Craig Morrison, Chaudhary, Mitchell Rao, Patterson and Rafiq all took a wicket apiece as the home side were bowled all out for 159, giving Prestwick an 86-run victory.

It was Prestwick's fourth win out of six in what has been a good start to the season for Rafiq's side.

They sit in fourth place, just 0.29 per cent behind local rivals Ayr as we approach the midway point of the season.

Saturday sees East Kilbride head to the Henry Thow Oval for a league match, which gets underway at noon,
