THE Bar One in Saltcoats was the venue for another night of great action, as all the players from the Three Towns Darts League turned out to do battle for this year's League Singles title.

The night was also celebrated with a brand new sponsor for this years event, as the TTDL teamed up with Securo Locksmiths. So the race began to see who would secure the crown and lock out the opposition!

As the draw was made, with the strongest field of players within the Three Towns, it was inevitable that some juicy first round ties would pop up! The game that really stood out saw two of the Leagues current top eight collide, as Jim 'The Ferryman' Reid overcame Davie 'Bungalow' Brown 2-0 to progress into round 2!

Dougie 'Lion' King hit the highest checkout of the night as he hit a 151 outshot to level his opening match. However it was not enough as Bobby ' Mind Games' Crozier put paid to his aspirations with a 2-1 victory. Other casualties also included former Masters champion William 'The Crystal' Hays as he lost out 2-1 to Brian 'Road Hog' Fotheringham, in what was to be the biggest upset of round one.

After some great games throughout the evening only four players remained as the semi-final line-up was complete.

Rab 'The Coachman' Povah was in fine form which saw him take the first spot in the final with a 2-0 victory over Bobby Crozier. Peter 'Piper' McGuiness Snr also proved why he is one of the most consistent players within the TTDL, as he won through the night to face Andy 'X-Factor' Boulton in the second semi-final. Peter putting up a great fight but it was Andy who held his nerve in the deciding leg to win 2-1 and complete the final line up.

A great final followed between two of the most experienced players within the TTDL. However, it was the defending champion Andy Boulton who came out on top, winning 2-0 and becoming the 2017 Securo League Singles Champion! This was a magnificent seventh triumph for Andy in the top event - an increasingly more difficult achievement to overcome with the ever improving standards within the TTDL. With just four more weeks' of the season remaining it will give him a great confidence boost with the upcoming Christmas Shop Masters Grand Finals just around the corner.

A massive thank you to all that turned out on the night for making it another memorable League Singles. Also for Miriam and all at the Bar One for hosting us for the evening and to Ronnie Bacon & Peter McGuiness Snr who ran a smooth and efficient tournament.
