BANKIES blitzed Muirkirk to chalk up a second win inside four days.
Just a minute in, Bankies could have taken the lead as a great ball was delivered into the box but Scott Granger and Roddy Paterson both left it for each other.
Two minutes later Granger was played in over the top, but the effort went narrowly over the bar.
However in six minutes 'Kirk took a shock lead when a defensive slip from Jack Sherrie allowed there striker in and he calmly slotted low past Marc Fisher.
Three home defenders then blocked the striker's shot and at the other end, Paterson got on the end of a ball into the box but clipped his shot over the top.
In 23 minutes from a free-kick on the right, Andy Hainey picked up a pass from Luke McCowan and through the visiting goalie's legs.
Six minutes later Granger pulled the ball down and found Paterson who in turn passed to Jamie Martin and he laid off the ball for Lee Sloan who fired into the bottom corner. Paterson then had an effort saved by the visiting goalie's legs.
Then in 49 minutes Stuart Faulds beat his man and swung a cross to the back post for McCowan to head into the net.
Bankies kept up the intense pace as Muirkirk struggled to deal with the constant pressure Jamie Martin made a good run but couldn't find the net before McCowan added his second, pouncing on a defensive error to fire home.
In 69 minutes Paterson got in on the action, finishing low from a Granger ball.
Late on as the match came to a close, tensions threatened to spill over as the referee missed a blatant stamp on Simpson but silenced the Muirkirk bench before being hacked down, leaving the referee with no choice but to point to the spot and McCowan completed his hat-trick to net his ninth goal of the season.
